Last month, I had the opportunity to share my reasons for running for re-election with a reporter from TAP Into.
You can read the full candidate profile here.
But here are the highlights …
In the three years that I’ve been on the Board, we have:
- Selected Hayden Moore as our new, long term Superintendent
- Begun implementation of free, universal pre-K for all residents
- Invested in our physical buildings, setting the district up for long term success
The main reasons I want to continue on the Board are to:
- Support Hayden Moore in his transition and ensure stability in the district
- See that the universal pre-K program is fully phased in as planned
- Ensure that planned facilities upgrades, like air conditioning, take place
We are on the right road and we are moving in the right direction. But we are only one election and one bad budget away from seeing much of this hard work undone.
