Today, I’m officially announcing my candidacy for Mayor of West Orange.
It’s been an honor, a privilege, and an awesome responsibility to serve on the West Orange Board of Education. Especially so to serve as President for four years and to be Hayden Moore’s partner in running the district.
For the last few years, I’ve been dismayed by what I’ve seen on the municipal side of our town’s government.
I’m proud to call West Orange home, and our town is brimming with potential. But the last few years, it’s stagnated and our municipal government has been mired in infighting. We need a leader who can work towards solutions instead of casting blame. I’m ready to put my experience and leadership to work with the Council to build a brighter future in West Orange.
In my time on the Board, we have a proven track record of success. We’ve elevated a new Superintendent, Hayden Moore, who will lead our district for years to come. We’ve rolled out universal pre-school. We’ve invested in our buildings, working towards air conditioning all of our elementary schools and creating additional classroom space. And we’ve shined a spotlight on academics, with the implementation of new curricula and broadened access to advanced classes.
